Shadow cabinet ministers have said that Sir Keir Starmer is “boring voters to death” as the Labour leader faces a second inquiry into his conduct.
In a sign of unease over Labour’s prospects of winning the next general election, several opposition frontbenchers told The Times that Starmer’s “locker is empty”. They urged him to set out his priorities for government before Labour’s conference in September.
One shadow cabinet minister said: “Is he exciting? No, of course not — that isn’t why we ended up with him. But there is a big difference between not being Mr Razzmatazz and boring everyone to death . . . to loads of my constituents he just doesn’t exist in their minds at all.”
