HBO released the full trailer for Westworld Season 4 and it’s giving us a lot of hints of what to expect for the upcoming season of the hit sci-fi series. If you’re afraid of creepy insect robots, you may want to stay away though. The trailer gives us a tease of what’s to come without giving away too much and is, as has become standard with the series, scored with beautiful piano music to create an atmospheric and evocative mood. Check out the insect robot and the preview of the fourth season in the trailer below:

Evan Rachel Wood is prominently featured in the Westworld Season 4 trailer, which is to be expected. Fans have been curious to see more after it was announced she was returning, despite the death of her character Dolores. Thandiwe Newton’s Maeve is also featured throughout the trailer, with Ed Harris’s Man in Black in her custody.  Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, and Aaron Paul are also seen throughout. We’re still left wondering where James Marsden will factor into this season. It was announced that Marsden would be returning in some capacity after his character Teddy died in earlier seasons. It seems like they’re wanting to keep his role under wraps for now, but it will undoubtedly play an important part in the events of Season 4. Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose is also set to be a recurring guest star for the fourth season. Her role has also been kept secret, so we’ll have to wait and see how her character will factor into the new season.

Westworld Season 4 takes place after the events of Season 3, where we saw Maeve and Aaron Paul’s Caleb take out Serac. We also saw the Man in Black seemingly killed by his alter-ego. It remains to be seen if this development sticks. Westworld is based on the Michael Crichton film of the same name and was co-created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Nolan and Joy also serve as executive producers alongside Alison Schapker, Denise Thé, J.J. Abrams, Athena Wickham, Richard J. Lewis, and Ben Stephenson. J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot Production produces alongside Kilter Films.

Westworld Season 4 will likely continue to see the robots from the Westworld park continue to branch out after gaining sentience. The first season of the show was heavily influenced by the movie, with much of the events of the show taking place in the Westworld park. The Westworld park provided a fantasy escape for wealthy clientele to do what they wanted in a world full of robots. As the robots began to develop consciousness of their own, the park fell apart. In the seasons since, less of the story and action has been based around the park itself. It will be interesting to see what direction Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy continue to take the show. We won’t have to wait long to find out. You can catch the Westworld Season 4 premiere when it hits HBO on June 26.
