A train derailment near the Manitoba-Ontario border sparked a wildfire on Saturday.
The Canadian Pacific Railway train derailed west of the Manitoba-Ontario border around 4 p.m.
Firefighters, as well as officials from the Manitoba Wildlife Service, Parks Manitoba and the Environmental Response Team were called to the scene east of Caddy Lake.
The fire burned an area three hectares in size before it was extinguished. Crews were still on scene Monday morning finishing the job, a provincial spokesperson said in an email.
No one was injured in the derailment, and there were no dangerous goods on board, a CP spokesperson said in an email.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
