A 27-year-old Alice Springs woman has been flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious spinal injuries after she was seen being dragged across the ground and assaulted by a man last week, Northern Territory police say.

Police are calling for more witnesses to come forward. One group that witnessed the violence told police the incident occurred about 9:40pm on Wednesday, June 8 on Gap Road.
Police said the man fled from the scene towards Telegraph Terrace.
NT Police said it is specifically seeking anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage of the area of Gap Road and Telegraph Terrace between 9pm and 10pm on the night to contact them.
The group that witnessed the incident intervened, police said, and stopped the man from further assaulting the woman.
Police have labelled the incident a “serious domestic violence assault”.
The woman was first taken to Alice Springs Hospital, police said, before she was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
